The aluminium fruit tree ladder with two supports has been specially developed for use in fruit growing and horticulture. It provides a secure footing on soft, unpaved ground – such as meadows, gardens or under fruit trees. The sturdy construction consists of torsion-resistant rectangular tube rails and rungs with dimensions of 30 × 30 mm, which are ribbed on both sides. The comfortable rung spacing of 280 mm ensures ergonomic climbing.
Thanks to the two extendable tube supports with screw connections, the long ground spikes and the webbing spreader bar, the ladder can be set up freestanding at the desired height – as stable as a tripod. The supports are positioned at the same angle as the ladder, and the accessories supplied enable quick and safe assembly. Important to know: The maximum load capacity with the supports fitted is 100 kg.
The top rungs are for use as handholds only – they are not for stepping on. The fruit tree ladder is only suitable for use on level, natural terrain. It must not be used on solid surfaces such as paving, asphalt or stairs. It is also not permitted for use on slopes.
The ladder width is 420 mm. The rung-rail connection is 4-fold crimped, which increases its service life and load-bearing capacity. This fruit tree ladder is the ideal solution for safe maintenance and harvesting work on trees in private gardens, orchards or allotments.
Whether in the 12-rung or 14-rung version, both models in the product family meet the highest standards of safety, handling and durability. Developed and manufactured in Germany, with a 15-year quality guarantee – Safety. Made in Germany.

Practical tips for working safely on fruit tree ladders
- Pay attention to the angle of placement: Set up the ladder at an angle of approx. 70–75° (not too flat). A steeper angle increases stability and reduces the risk of slipping.
- Secure the spikes in the ground: Make sure that the ground spikes on the ladder feet and supports go deep into the ground. The ladder is only stable when the spikes are firmly embedded in the ground. If necessary, loosen the ground slightly at the point where the spikes are to grip.
- Move rather than lean: Do not reach too far to the side or backwards. If you cannot safely reach a branch or area from your current position, climb down and move the ladder. Leaning sideways jeopardises your balance and can cause the ladder to tip over.
- Only climb alone: The fruit tree ladder is only designed to be climbed by one person. A second person should remain on the ground and, if necessary, hold the ladder at the bottom to provide additional support. However, they should never climb the ladder!
- Use protective equipment: Wear sturdy shoes with non-slip soles when working on rung ladders. When cutting branches in trees, a safety helmet is also recommended to protect against falling branches. Avoid working with heavy equipment (e.g. chainsaws) on the ladder – it is better to carry out such tasks from the ground.
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Can I also use the fruit tree ladder on hard surfaces (e.g. asphalt or stairs)?
No. Fruit tree ladders are specially designed for unpaved ground (such as grass or soil) and only provide a secure footing there. On smooth, solid surfaces – such as concrete, asphalt or indoors – the ground spikes cannot grip, causing the ladder to slip. Therefore, only use the ladder on level, soft ground outdoors.
How do I attach the fruit tree supports to the ladder?
The supports are screwed to a rung at the top of the ladder and placed at an angle to the ground. Make sure to align the supports at approximately the same distance and angle as the ladder so that the structure is straight. Then, tighten the supplied straps to prevent the ladder and supports from sliding apart. Detailed instructions can be found in the assembly instructions, which you can download as a PDF file at the top of the page.
What is the maximum weight that the fruit tree ladder can bear?
The maximum load capacity is 100 kg when the fruit tree supports are mounted. This means that the person and load (e.g. picked fruit in a bucket) should not weigh more than 100 kg together. This limitation is for safety reasons, as higher loads would compromise stability. Without the supports fitted, the usual load capacities of the respective ladder (150 kg) apply, but with supports, 100 kg should not be exceeded.
Can I attach a bucket or basket to the ladder when picking fruit?
Yes, we recommend our MUNK bucket hook for this purpose. It can be inserted into the rung opening without tools, holds up to 10 kg and allows you to work safely with both hands free for harvesting or pruning. The hook and ladder remain securely connected so that you can easily lift your bucket.
How can I stand more safely and comfortably on the fruit tree ladder?
Standing on rungs for long periods of time is not only uncomfortable, but also unsafe – especially when working overhead. According to the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), working on portable ladders with rungs is only permitted in particularly justified exceptional cases, such as harvesting in fruit growing. These exceptions must be justified and documented in a commercial environment.
Even if these regulations are not binding in private gardens, the problem remains the same: an unstable footing and quickly tiring feet.
Our recommendation: Use an R13 Hook-in Step or an R13 Hook-in Platform. Both products can be attached to the rungs without tools and offer a significantly larger, slip-resistant standing surface. This increases safety and comfort when working on a ladder – regardless of the location.
